Registration Explained

Returning Students

If you are moving from level 1 to level 2, repeating a year or have transferred onto CD2/CDMM2 from another programme of study at UH, you are classed as a 'returning student'. You do not have to do through the whole registration process. Students that were able to progress normally should have registered by post. If they have and they have received their receipt they have completed re-registration.

Returning students who were unable to register by post or who have not received a receipt should re-register in the Student Centre, Ground floor Mercer building, College Lane, at 0900-1200 on Wednesday 28th Setember (though there is also a late registration session 1300-1600 hrs on Friday the 30th September.

Students that had resits will need to obtain a Permission to Proceed Form from their Faculty before they can re register. You can collect this from Carol Norris in room A543 (FEIS Resources Centre near the old Sports Hall and Car Park 1).

All returning students will need to re activate their ID cards at one of the following stations:

Outside the ID office (LB424)
Student Centre (Ground Floor Mercer Building, College Lane)
De Havilland Campus (M222)
St Albans Campus (see security staff at the Law School)

New Students (Direct Entrants to CD2 who are new to UH)

All level 2 students who are new to the University are required to register, in the LRC, Monday 26th Sep 2005. For this you will require certain key documents, and they must be originals, not copies. A list of things you will need in order to register:

Full birth certificate
Evidence of the qualifications which qualify you for your place on the scheme
National Insurance Number (UK students only)
Passport (if you are an overseas student or have spent time living abroad)
NHS number or card (UK students only)
Fees assessment letter
Means to pay at least the fees deposit (if applicable)

None of the documents are taken away from you, only the fees. As part of the enrolment process, students will be registered on their programme to module level; organise payment of fees; obtain their ID card; obtain their LIS account and where appropriate apply for council tax exemption and bank letters.

Registration Enquiries

The student centre will be open as normal, however it will be extremely busy and we expect long queues, with returning registration. Staff are therefore encouraged to inform students that if their query is not urgent they should delay visiting the Student Centre until the week of the 3rd October.

Requests for letters can be posted in one of the Student Centre post boxes, situated just outside the Student Centre entrance and just inside, next to the photocopier.
