Synchonisation Patterns
Synchronisation patterns are a means of specifying the order in which an
object's methods may be invoked. They are expressed using the pattern
language of the object-oriented prototyping language RAPIDE and are used in
conjunction with types to form Ordered Types. The behaviour of an object
which has an Ordered Type is defined in terms of both its methods and the
order in which those methods will be accepted. The seminar will contain a
brief outline of the development of Ordered Types but will focus mainly on
the definition of, and the reason for wanting, a conformance relationship
between synchronisation patterns.
The ISE research group usually meets on Wednesdays from 2 pm in E374 at UH Hatfield Campus.
