Updated Workshop Scientific Programme is now on-line. [pdf]
NOTE: You need *not* register for ICSM 2007, unless you also plan to attend the main conference. The Software Evolvability fees are separate from and not included in ICSM registration fees (and vice versa), although the registrations can be done at the same time on-line.

Software Evolvability and the Scope of the Meeting
Software evolution is now well-established as an area urgently requiring research in order to understand and manage it. This workshop is intended to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in this area to present their results, current and proposed research, and reasoned or speculative opinions on how the requirements of a software-based system and/or the system itself can be evolved or made more evolvable. The results of the meeting will help to underpin advances in evolution of systems meeting those requirements. Our aim is to involve researchers and representatives from academia and industry to help tackle this important research area. With two meetings at ICSM 2005 in Budapest and ICSM 2006 in Philadelphia, the IEEE Workshop on Software Evolvability has established itself as a leading forum for the presentation and discussion of all aspects of software evolvability. In this third meeting, we will again consider evolvability in software evolution, and how it can lead to insights into the design, requirements for, and long-term maintenance and evolution of software systems. The ability to evolve software over time to meet the changing needs of its stakeholders is one of the principal challenges currently facing software engineering. Potential areas of interest in requirements or software system evolution include, but are not limited to, the following:
Submissions and IEEE Publication
We invite the submission of high quality papers describing current proposed research, or well-informed opinions as to potentially valuable research directions, Submissions, of up to 6 pages (regular papers) in two-column IEEE format, should be sent in Adobe pdf or postscript format by the submission deadline to P.D.Wernick@herts.ac.uk
All submissions will be peer-reviewed to IEEE standards. Depending on the decisi ons of the programme committee, some papers may be accepted for short presentati ons with reduced length. Accepted papers will be published in proceedings by the IEEE Comput er Society and on IEEE Xplore.
Important Dates
Submission deadline: 23 June 2007
Notification of acceptance/rejection: 6 July 2007
Final copy in IEEE format required by: 31 July 2007 [extended]
