Welcome to the BSc(Hons) Computer Science and Information Technology homepage. This is an open access page (no login required) that complements the StudyNet homepage. If you are returning student (e.g. in CSIT2, CSIT4) you will notice that this page has changed substantially. Some content has been updated and simplified. Other content has been moved to StudyNet. The old online Handbook is available here for referencing and nostalgia.

A new Programme Handbook is available and has been designed to be downloaded to read offline. The Handbook provides advice on terminology, who to contact, the structure of the degree programme, assessment and attendance, Serious Adverse Circumstances, why and how to express your opinion and give feedback, profesional placements, important dates, and guidance on modules to choose for particular degree award titles.
You should also read the Programme Specification for 2010-2011, the University Policies and Regulations (UPRs), and the Student Code of Conduct. The FAQs resource is now maintained on StudyNet (here).
Definitive Module Documents (DMDs) for all modules offered on the programme are available here.

A new Serious Adverse Circumstances process has been introduced this academic year to replace the Extenuating Circumstances process for all students. Serious adverse circumstances are significant circumstances beyond your control that would have affected your ability to perform to your full potential if you were to submit or attend assessments at the appointed time. If, despite such circumstances, you decide to sit/submit an assessment, the University will not normally accept a claim of serious adverse circumstances in respect of that assessment. If there are Serious Adverse Circumstances that have affected your assessment(s), you must communicate details to the University together with appropriate evidence, using the form provided by the School of Computer Science. You should read the University’s guidance on Serious Adverse Circumstances (available here and here). Further information is also available in the Programme Handbook
